The very youngest children at Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Solihull spend their time in our specially designed Baby room. The entire space is created with all their needs in mind and built as the perfect environment for them to begin to explore the world around them. Babies have their own sensory sleep room for those relaxing sleeps throughout the day.
We are passionate about taking care of your babies
While with us, babies are looked after by a dedicated and specially trained team of individuals. Each member of staff will care directly for no more than three children at any one time. This enables staff to provide the intimate care your child needs, understanding them as an individual. Doing this also helps staff to work in partnership with your parenting and continue routines from home.
In addition, your baby’s development is focused on three prime areas. These are:
- Physical development
- Communication and language
- Personal, social and emotional development
Not only do we focus on these key areas, but we also weave development through your child’s day. We achieve this by talking and role-modelling with them during their play, for example. The care that Monkey Puzzle Solihull delivers ensures the environment that our babies stay in is stimulating and warm, full of interaction and play.

Babies environment
Our non mobile babies benefit from a large, bright, open plan room, of natural light to enhance setting, the well equipped with the latest in sensory equipment to test their senses and encourage development. As babies spend a lot of time sleeping at this early age, we provide a dedicated sleep room. We constantly monitor the temperature to ensure the babies are comfortable, each child has their own cot and full bedding is provided. We operate a strict ratio 1-3, ensuring there will never be more than three babies to any one member of staff so you can be assured that your little one will get the essential attention they need at this stage in their life. Your child’s key person will take care of all your child’s personal needs whenever possible.
We always cater completely for the individual child, following their normal routine from home.
Our Nursery has worked with a nutritionist completing a 1 year course to devise a healthy balanced menu meeting all dietary needs with a wide range of meals and snacks.
We provide nappies, wipes, formula & work with you fully to create a weaning menu.
We positively encourage the use of our lovely outside spaces when possible, our Babies access the outdoors daily and have a covered area to provide shelter when needed. They also go for walks regularly to the Park and Nature Reserve.
On our visits to the Nature Reserve the children can run and explore jumping in puddles and looking at plants, flowers and trees. We have a 6 seater pushchair that we use to go on outings, pop to supermarkets to get out fruit and veg.
We have a Zumbini Session once a week for all ages where the children learn how to move, dance and wiggle expressing themselves to music and begin to learn rhythm and songs.
